St Patrick's Day

Talan's Preschool class had a St Patricks Day Party. At the party they made leprechaun hats, had shamrock painted on their checks and play leprechaun says. Talan had so much fun.

Talan's Preschool had a St Patricks Day Party.

We usually don't do much for St Patricks Day,but this year we decided to try and catch a Leprechaun and get his pot of gold. Lincoln thinks we should call a professional Leprechaun tapper.

Talan wanted to make sure that the trap would work. So he put on his leprechaun hat and had Jason try to trap him.

We decided that the best bait would be "Lucky Charms" hopefully our leprechaun like the generic Marshmallow Matey.

Lincoln was more interested in trying to get to the Marshmallow Mateys himself.

Lincoln managed to get a few Marshmallow Mateys, we will see how the leprechaun fairs.

Mmmmmm.

We didn't catch him this year, but he left a trail of gold coins, Rollos and shamrocks.

When we got up our tables was decorated for a St Patricks day dinner.

When Talan woke up he ran in our room and had tears running down his face. I asked him what was wrong and all he kept asking is where is Daddy? I told him that he was a work. He said okay, I thought the leprechaun took him. He was so excited to see the golden coins.

Talan would have been perfectly happy to eat gold coins for breakfast.

When we got in the fridge to make breakfast we found that the leprechaun had turned our milk green.

Lincoln had fun with the gold coins too. But he would rather throw them than to eat them.

The boys were excited when Jason got home. Before he was even in the door Talan had his hat waiting.

We had a St Patrick's Day Dinner. I don't like corned beef or cabbage, so we had funeral potatoes and ham. It was the closest thing to an Irish dinner that I thought my boys would eat.

Talan wanted to take a photo of Jas and I. He did a great job. He even posed us. Maybe he will be a photographer when he grows up. Happy St Patricks Day!!!!

Weekend Fun

The weather is getting warmer in Utah and we are loving it. This weekend we jammed as many things as possible into it. First we went to the library to get some new books. We go every two weeks so that we have new bedtime stories each night. Actually we end  up reading everyone of them as soon as we get home. I love reading them just as much as the boys do. I hope that they love to read as much as I do. Whenever we go to the library Talan jumps out of the car and runs for the door, he loves to push the button that opens the doors.

First stop, dropping off the old book so that we have room in our bag for some new ones.

Lincoln loves to play in the toy area. This time he found to wooden puzzle pieces and banged them together like symbols while running and screaming as loud as he could though the Library. When we got to the check out desk the Librarian keep apologizing for taking so long to scan our books, what she was really thinking is I can't wait until they leave.

Soon as we get home it is time to read every book that we got. I love snuggling with my boys and reading a story. It makes me feel like a kid again.

Nap Time. I hate that Lincoln sleeps like this. He some how always manages to cover his head with his blankets. So I am up a couple of times at night uncovering it.

This is why I have to do it. It is hard to see but his head is so sweaty.

Our family loves to feed the ducks. We usually go over to the Salem Pond, but this time we went to Flowserve.

As soon as we got out of the car the ducks started towards us. Lincoln loved the ducks. He loved to throw the bread and maybe nibble on a few himself.

Lincoln had so much fun. He giggled the whole time we were there.

So Sad!!!! He cried the whole way home. I guess we will have to feed the ducks more often.

On weekend nights Talan either wants to have family game night of to play Rock Band. So this weekend we rocked out.

Temple Square

I just found this photos on a memory card that was in my carrying case. I loved going to temple square with Jason and Talan. Talan loved walking up to see the Christ sculpture.

While we were walking around the temple. Talan asked "So when do I get to meet President Monson." I so wish that we could do that, but unfortunately we didn't bump into them. However we talked with some darling sister missionaries that told us all about the tabernacle.

The Christmas lights were amazing. I just wish that is was snowy. I remember loving to go to temple square when I was younger. I loved how the lights shown through the snow.

It was so fun to spend the night with just Talan. We walked around temple square, then Talan wanted to go to The Training Table. He is such a fun age. I am trying to take in every moment and imprint it into my memory. I just wish time would stand still. I know that great things are to come, but I am just loving this time so much!

Snowman Kit

Last year Talan and Jason went out to make a snowman and this is what they made. So to keep this tragedy from happening again we decided that they need a snowman kit. We need a cute Frosty snowman

So we spent a Saturday afternoon at grandma Christensen's painting eyes, carrot noses and buttons for our snowman.

Everyone got involved in the painting.

Lincoln would have loved to help, but I didn't want to spend the whole night trying to scrub paint off of him. He was content to just sit and watch Kipper the dog.

Talan finished about 2 buttons and then he needed a snack break.So can you guess who ended up making the rest of the kits. That's right MOM.

Good thing I like doing crafty things. We have been so excited to use our kit, but we have not had a good snow storm since. Maybe they will have to wait until next year. I hope I remember where I put them next year.
