Utah County Fair

Jess and I took the kids to the county fair in Spanish Fork. The kids had fun riding on a couple of rides. Talan's favorite was this obstacle course.

Talan wanted to drive the trucks,

while Addy wanted to ride the motorcycles.

I was surprised that Talan would even ride in the car. Usually carnival rides are not his thing.

They had a fire truck at the Fair and the firefighters were spraying the kids.

She even let Addy and Talan take a turn at cooling off the crowd.

Everyone is now nice and cool.

The fair had a huge Lego train display and the kids thought it was awesome.

 We had a good time at the county fair. It was a little hot but it was good to get out of the house for the afternoon.

4 Wheeling and Demoliton Driving

We have a fun weekend! Friday night we took the ATV up Pole Haven. It is one of my favorite rides in the area. Talan and I rode together. He likes to ride on the 4-wheelers, but he would rather ride with Jason because he thinks I go on the scary parts.

Talan thought he was going to take the Rhino for a spin.

This is my favorite part of the ride up Pole Haven. The view from up there is amazing. You can see the whole valley and we were up there at sunset.

We had a few snacks and spent a few minutes trying to see where every one's house was.

Talan wanted to go for a ride in the Rhino, so grandpa and Gary took him for a ride.

The next day we decided to ride from Hobble Creek to Daniel's Summit Lodge. We have done this ride a few times but it has been a few years. Jason had to stop here and there and make sure we were still on the right trail.

The ride was so rocky. But we still had a great time. It took us about 2 hour 30 minutes to do the trail each way.

You have got to love the bandanna and goggles.

This was a tough ride in some areas. The trail was washed out and rocky in parts.

Jason is standing by these rocks that were covered in moss, it was so pretty.

We got so much snow this year that the water washed out the trail so you had to ride up this steam bed to get to the trail. The sides were as tall as the rhino. It was my favorite part of the ride.

Talan is the best helper. I love the little soap bubbles on his nose.

That night we went to the Utah County Demolition Derby in Spanish Fork.

It was so fun, I have never been to one. We will defiantly be going to the Derby again.

Cars got flipped over and drivers had to climb out of windows.

A few cars started on fire.

They also had some freestyle motorcross.

They even had a Lighting McQueen Car. We had so much fun cheering on our favorite cars! The derby will be a new August tradition. I hope Ash and Jeremy will be able to come with us next year.

Farm Country

We went to Thanksgiving Point's Farm Country. We go every year but this is the first year that Talan was brave enough to ride the pony.

Addy is a Pro horse rider.

Lincoln was not fearful at all. As soon as I sat him on the horse he was shouting Go, Go.

Lincoln enjoys seeing the birds. Even though he calls them all ducks.

When we stopped at the goat pen, I noticed Lincoln over by the fence giving the goat a kiss.

All of the kids had fun crawling through the worm exhibit.

They had this fun building that showed the process of how our fruits and vegetables get from the garden to the store. First you have to pick your crops. Addy and Talan gathering up their fruits and veggies.

They had these veggie gardens and they also had little trees around that had fruit on them.

After you pick your crops, you put it on the conveyor belt  and it goes in the truck.

Crew decided to take a ride on the tractor.

Our kids ended up in jail. At Thanksgiving Point they have a little town and they kids favorite town building was the jail.

All through the farm they had interactive exhibits. The kids got to see how chickens grow in the egg and see all the baby chicks.

This was a fun activity. The kids tried to pick up buckets of feed for the animals. They had a little bucket for chickens and the buckets got heavier as the animals got bigger.

After he separated the milk, he started filling the milk containers.

The little boys had fun doing the puzzles and looking at the books in the play center.

Every year we take the kids to Farm Country and the kids look forward to going. It is a great place for kids. I think that they learned a lot and had fun doing it. I it so neat to see Talan getting braver as he is getting older. He was proud of himself for riding on the horse. I asked him what his favorite thing was and he said learning how we get our milk. I can't wait to go back again and learn some more new things.
