We have finally had some nice weather. Okay it was 59 or so but it has been the nicest day in Utah this year. We needed to take advantage of the weather so we loaded up the wagon and headed off for the neighborhood park. We decided to walk to the park,it is only about 1 1/2 miles from our house, I thought the exercise would be nice. About half way to the park I realized that it was not the relaxing walk I had anticipated. Our neighborhood is full of hills. Pulling 70+ lbs of kids up and down hills was more of a work out then I thought.
Talan wanted to pull the wagon and I was okay about letting him pull Lincoln up the hill. But he only lasted about 20 feet and then he was done pulling and wanted a ride.
Lincoln had a blast climbing up and down the stairs.
Once he made it to the top of the play set he wasn't sure what he should do.
Talan was a good sport and played on the little play-set with Lincoln.
Lincoln would not go down the slide sitting up. He would always flip over on his tummy. Just last year we finally got Talan to go down sitting up. Must be a Christensen thing.
One going up, One going down.
Lincoln had a great time playing in this tube. He would wait until you were walking by and then he would stick his hand out and try to get you.
Last summer Talan worked so hard to try and climb up the slide, but he never made it. This year he was determined to do it.
Lincoln was not about to miss out on a challenge. I think that he thinks he is a big as his brother.
Almost there!
He made it! You can see the determination.
Now for the fun part.
Lincoln decided that the stairs were easier. He is such a little dare devil you have to watch him carefully, because he would jump off with out hesitation.
The swings are not Talan's favorite. But we are working on pumping. He will finally let you push him, but no underdogs.
Not sure if he trust his mom to help him across the monkey bars. It was his lucky day, I am to short to hold him up to them.
Lincoln's favorite, climbing up and down the stairs.
After about an hour of playing we packed up and headed back home. The thought crossed my mind to call and have someone rescue us but I figured I need the exercise. As we were walking home we saw the Life Flight helicopter fly over, so we stopped to watch it. One fun thing about our house is all the planes and helicopters fly over us on their way to Spanish Fork Canyon. One day it was foggy and Life Flight looked like it was going to land in the field behind us. The boys love to watch the helicopters.
The boys were so hungry after the park. We had sandwiches and fruit punch, it turned into quite a mess.
As we were heading home Talan and I decided that we are going to visit every park in Springville this year. When we have visited them all we will pick out our favorites. So the Big Hallow Park is done and next week we will pick a new one to visit. Hopefully there are not to many parks in Springville. I found this list, it looks like we have our work (fun) cut out for us.
Arts - Big Hallow - Bird - Child - City - Freedom - Heritage - Hobble Creek - Holdway - Kelvin Grove - Memorial - Ray Wing - Spring Acres- Spring Creek. (14 Total)
