This summer has been crazy busy. We have been on the move constantly. One of our favorite evening activities is to hike up Maple Canyon to Whitings Campground.
Talan played kickball again this year and loved it. He loved to field the ball and tag the runners out. No one else had a chance to get the ball with Talan around.
Talan and Addy.
Team pictures. Too bad only half the team showed up.
The best part of kickball is the treats and the end of season medal.
My kids love to go to the library. We visit weekly and do story time and pick out some new bed time stories. Lincoln loves the train table and could play there all afternoon. We always drag him out kicking and screaming.
Talan joined the library's summer reading program. If he reads so many day then he gets a prize and a ticket to the summer reading party.
The carnival was in town. Talan took Crew for a ride in the Jeep.
Of course we had to get a famous Art City Day's Scone. Slathered in honey butter and sugar.
The kids getting their bikes ready for the Art City Day's Children's Parade.
Waiting at the starting line.Talan's balloons only lasted about the first 20 feet.
Cooling down with a snow cone at the end of the parade.
Next stop was the Kids Art Fair at the museum. They had tons of fun activities for the kids to do. Talan showing off his pipe cleaner flower.
Face Painting was the highlight of the festival. Can you tell who Talan is? Harry Potter of course. He would not wash it off and told me that he would like everyone to call him Harry for the day. What a cute kid.
We finished up the afternoon with a little finger painting. It is so nice to have my kids growing up in such a good community with so many fun activities to do.
This summer has been so busy that the kids have fallen asleep in some unusual places.
Talan decided to have a slumber party with a few of his stuffed animals.
It had been a few years since we went to the Manti Pageant so we decided to take the kids down. We stopped at the park to get some pizza and a burrito so we could have a picnic.
While we were waiting Jason tested us on our Manti Pageant Trivia.
Lincoln watched a few movies. That dvd player has been the best purchase we have ever made.
After trivia it was the crossword puzzle.
Talan loves to see the temple and he said that his favorite parts of the pageant was the angel Moroni on the temple and the volcano.
Talan with some of the cast members.
The temple lite up at night. It was so pretty.
Father's Day. Jason has been working so much over time that we decided for Father's Day we would let him sleep in. It was probably his favorite part of the day.
We did get him a little gift.
Talan filled out this cute dad survey. My favorite part is that he thinks Jason is 20.
Talan was bound and determined to get the training wheels off his bike.
Another big highlight of the summer was that Talan learned to ride his bike without training wheels. He was so excited and all it took was some bribery of some ninja's from Ream's vending machine.
Talan getting his ninja at Reams.
Talan at swimming lessons. He loves the water and is becoming a good swimmer. He loves to dive off the sides.
One of my favorite things about summer is waking up to find the flags out around the neighborhood. I love all the patriotism. Jason is not as excited for flag days because that means he has to get up at 6 and take the young men around to put them all up.
The other day I walked into Lincoln's room to find him trying to ride on his little train.
About once a week some of the neighborhood kids end up on our front porch wanting Jason to play baseball with them. They have so much fun playing ball out in the road. I also enjoy it because a few of us moms get out a blanket and gab while they play. We have the best neighborhood around. It is so fun to be surrounded by such fun families.
Friday nights mean softball time. Jason and some of the guys from work have been playing softball for a few years now and it has become a night to look forward too. The kids love to go and play with each other and the moms have fun cheering on the guys and keeping the umpires in line. This year was especially fun because Jason hit his first over the fence home run.
Pro Air the team to beat.
Dave, Jeremy, Joe and Jason.
One morning Lincoln went and found his blanket, laid it out on the floor, and put his breakfast on it. I guess he wanted to have a picnic.
Unfortunately this summer we have caught a few bugs. In June it was the stomach flu and in July it was the croup. Lincoln was not excited that after his steroid shot all he got was this blue sucker.
Lincoln's favorite meal "Chicky Nuggets" from Donald's. If you ask him what he wants to eat he will always say either a burrito or "Chicky Nuggets" from Donald's.
We have also enjoyed staying cool at the movies this summer. Can't beat the dollar movies at Spanish 8 and the $2 treat box.
The reptile show at the library. I was surprised that Talan wanted to go. But since half of the neighborhood was going he didn't want to miss it.
This was a huge albino boa. The kids got to pet it, but neither of mine would get close to it. However Lincoln did get in line for the hand sanitizer. I have trained them well.
Lincoln, Jackson, Talan and Mason. The 4 amigos. They gave the reptile show 3 thumbs up.
I have the most romantic husband ever. For our 9th anniversary he surprised me with a pink light up fishing pole and flowers. To top it off we had take out Cafe Rio and headed to the res to try it out. He truly knows how to hook my heart.
I catch the fish and Jason spends the rest of the time trying to keep them alive. He is the best fishing caddy around.
One of the many fish we caught that night.
Lincoln taking a nap with the DVD on his head.
Talan with his survival bracelet. The older kids came around selling these bracelets and Talan had to have one. I loved it because he got to help me around the house to pay it off.
Story Time at the Library. The boys made dream catchers and had otter pops.
Talan likes to go to story time.
In the evenings when it has cooled down a little we love to get in the Bronco and take it for a spin. Usually we go and get a ice cream. Lincoln just wishes it was not so loud.
Talan and Jason had a great time at Father and Sons. They made rockets and blow darts and just had a lot of fun with the neighbors.
Talan shooting off his rocket.
You know that you are having fun when you are covered in dirt.
One of our favorite summer activities is the Splash Pad in Spanish Fork. It is perfect for those days that you want to cool off but not go swimming.
Talan cooling off.
This little merry go rounds can sure get moving. Even if you are an adult.
Lincoln loves to go down the slides,
The kids have also really enjoyed the tramp.
This summer has been a fun one. We are always on the go and Jason says I have adult ADD. I always have to be doing something. Summer is just so short and there are so many things that I want to do before the dreaded snow arrives. I love summer and am dreading sending my darling Talan to school. I will be so bored without him. I still have a couple of weeks left to fill so I better go and get busy.
