Our day started off early. We rented a bus for the whole day to take us to some of the attractions we wanted to visit. Everyone was asleep on the way to Tulum our first stop.
Yes Jason, No we are not there yet!
We finally made it to Tulum.
Just the girls, melting in the sun.
It was neat so see the ancient ruins. The Maya's sure knew where to build their homes. The beach and the ocean at Tulum was so beautiful.
The Boges.
Yoe and Yessica
Lucky Jason wasn't a Mayan. He would have been ducking a lot.
Tulum was beautiful, but I have never felt such heat and humidity in my life.
We didn't have a guide but we still enjoyed seeing the ruins.Tulum was a lot bigger than what I was expecting.
Jason and Jessica standing in front of what I think was the most beautiful beach we saw during our stay in Mexico. I loved the rocky cliffs and the soft white sand. It was a great contrast.
The ocean was such a pretty blue that it seem as though you were looking at a Photoshoped photo.
It was nice to stand on this little over hang because we got a nice ocean breeze and it helped cool us down.
A little piece of Paradise.
My little friend who charged me. He liked the cliff over look too and didn't want to share.
While we were buying tickets, the locals keep trying to talk us into a tour. We just wanted to go at our own pace. They told us if we didn't take the tour it would be "Just a Pile of Rocks."
Next stop was Akumal Bay. This is where we went snorkeling.
I was so excited to go snorkeling, I had never been. The locals said that there were a lot of sea turtles in Akumal Bay and I wanted to see one.
We were all hungry so we ate lunch at this awesome restaurant that over looked the bay.
This was the view from our table.
After lunch it was time to hit the ocean and cool off.
Jason and Jessica showing off their fins. While we were snorkeling we saw 3 turtles, a bunch of fish and some of the reef. It was fun until I started to get sea sick and realized that we were so far from the beach. Ashley and I started to swim in until we got caught in a current. We finally swam with the current and then we were able to swim to the shore. I don't think I have ever swam so far in my life.
Our last stop of the day was 5th avenue. We stopped to do a little shopping. It was quick but we were able to pick up a few items for those back home.
The girls ready for dinner at the resort's steak house.
Jess and I waiting for our T-bone steaks and ribs.
Jason and I
Our table.
After dinner we sat out in the outside lobby.
This was Alex, the platinum lobby host. We became good friends with Alex during our stay. This is my fan that he found and was returning it to me. Alex was the best!!!
Our last day at the Grand Sunset Princess we spent just relaxing.
The platinum area of the beach.
This is how Jason spent part of his afternoon.
The girls coming back from a day at the beach.
The boys enjoying a hot dog from the beach hut.
The water was so warm and the bottom of the ocean was such a soft sand it was truly a tropical paradise. I loved being in the ocean and the feel of the waves hitting me.
Joe and Jason with some bread feeding the fish.
Some of the fish that came over.
A view of the resort from the ocean. You could walk way out into the water and it was only about waist deep.
Our last dinner at the Grand Sunset Princess.
We went to the Miso again. Jeremy and Ashley were having a little tiff.
Jessica and Joe waiting for the cooking show.
Jess and I trying to cool off with our fans we bought on 5th Ave.
We had an awesome chef again at Miso. Cracking eggs with his spatula,
and throwing bowls of rice in the air.
The server even made Jessica some bunny ears with napkins.
After dinner we just walked around the resort and enjoyed out last night there.
We sat with one of the many statues that line the main path down to the beach.
Then were started to get a little silly doing our "action shots"
This is a picture of one of the swim out rooms at the resort.
Jason and I practicing our diving skills.
Around the resort they had photos of animals that you may see. Every time I was in the ocean I kept thinking that I hoped that the crocodile had not escaped.
We saw a ton of these little half raccoon, half monkey animals that ran freely around the resort.
Jason hanging out in the Platinum Lounge.
Joe picking up a little something at the Platinum bar.
Trying out the outdoor shower.
After walking around the resort we went down to the beach. We saw a bunch of kids with flashlights and they were catching these little white crabs. I was surprised how many of these crabs there were scurrying around in the sand.
The kids had a bucket full. Some were big and some were small.
The moon was full and it was breath taking over the ocean.
Our last night on the beach. I can't wait to go back and visit the Grand Sunset Princess again. Our nightly outing to the beach was one of the highlights of the trip.
