Play Dough

Talan had been behaving really well, so I told him that for a treat we would make some play dough. He was so excited and couldn't wait to get started. We gathered all the ingredients and found a recipe.
Of course Lincoln didn't want to miss out on the fun. We carefully measured the flour, salt, cream of tarted, water and oil.
Once it was all mixed together we had to heat it up and stir it until it was Play dough consistency.
We had a little accident but the boys were willing to help clean the mess up. What good little helpers.
Once the dough was cooked it was time to add the coloring. We added a few drops of color and then we kneaded it until it was the color we wanted it.
Once the dough was done Talan asked me when we were going to eat it. I looked at him funny and said we aren't going to eat it. He responded with "I thought you said this was my treat?" I told him it was his treat for being so good. He said " I thought we were making Play dough ice cream, because play dough is not a treat."
Note to self: Treat is something you can eat!!

Soccer 2011 " Tigers"

Talan warming up before the game.
Talan loved to throw the ball in.
Talan and Addy with their game faces on.

Lincoln trying to be part of the team.
Talan taking a break after trying to pull Lincoln off the field.

Talan and Addy with their medals.
This was Talan's second year playing Soccer and with each game he is improving. The first few games he would just orbit around the kids, but as the season went on he would get in the group and try and kick the ball. When ever the coach asked who wanted to go in Talan would always beg to go on the field. I love his determination as he strives to be a better soccer player. This year the team decided to name their team the Tigers. They ended up not having any girls on their team. One of the kids on his team is also in his preschool class. I asked Talan what his name was and he told me Golbie. I questioned him and asked him if he was sure that is was Golbie not Kolbie. He said no mom it is Golbie. They next day when I dropped him off at preschool I saw the little boy getting dropped off at preschool as his mom was leaving she said Bye Jake. JAKE!!!! not even close to Golbie. Now he has me wondering what the little girls name is that he refers to as Bebe. Talan had a great time playing soccer and is excited to play it again next year. Way to go Talan.

Lincoln's 2nd Birthday!

I can't believe that Lincoln is 2. I love this age, his personality is really starting to shine through.  As grandma Jones says "He is a little Fireball". One of his loves are dogs, especially Blue. So we decided to throw him a Blue's Clues Party.
I wanted to have his party outside but it was overcast and windy and I didn't want to take the chance of getting rained on.
Blue was only on the table for a few minutes, once Linx saw it he had to have it.

Lincoln and his best friend Blue.

I think Talan was more excited for Lincoln's birthday. Every time we saw someone we knew he would remind them of Lincoln's birthday and ask them if they had his present yet.
He was so spoiled this year by friends and family.
I am one proud mom. I love both of my boys so much.
All of my boys.
The birthday boy with grandma and grandpa Jones.
The Christensens.
I got the cutest mini cake for Lincoln. The cupcakes were supposed to be individual but when I picked them up they had made me a cupcake cake. Oh well it turned out okay.
Lincoln didn't know what to do with the candles. We would lean in smell them and say ahhh.
Talan showed him how to blow them out. I hope his wish comes true this year.
We must not have sounded very good when we sang Happy Birthday to him.
Some of our party guest.
Ashley and Ellie enjoying a cupcake.
Lincoln knows were to turn for a sip of Diet Coke.

Finally time to open presents.
Lincoln didn't want to open the gifts, he just wanted to play with the toys.
What's inside????
Lincoln decided that he was not going to open any more gifts so Jason had to finish opening them.
However, once he heard the barking from inside the last present he had to see what was inside.
I didn't want another real dog so he got a Fur Real Dog and he was just as excited.
One happy Boy!
I did a Blue's Clue scavenger hunt. The first clue they had to dig in the dirt to find the next clue.
The next clue lead the kids to the bathroom where they found a bath tub full of balloons.
They had to pop the balloons to find the next clue.
To find the next clue they had to eat the food like a dog.
We had some messy faces, but the kids were having fun.
Talan.
Next the kids had to fish for a clue.
They found their prizes in the mail box, but first we had a silly string war.
I guess Silly String is not Lincoln's idea of fun.
The older kids sure had fun attacking each other.
Not a Happy Birthday Boy.
More of the party guest.
The kids trying out all the new toys.
Lincoln is going to be busy for a month playing with all his new toys.
