Talan's 5th Birthday!!

I can't believe Talan is already 5. He is old enough now to pick out what kind of birthday party he wants. So we went up to Zurchers and walked around to get ideas. Talan spotted a magic wand and that was it, he wanted a magic party. I will admit I was stumped for ideas on how to decorate for a Magic party, but I think that it turned out great.

Talan's birthday always falls on Art City Days and this year they were having a Magic Show. Talan loved the show and laughed the whole time. I love to see the boys having such a good time. His favorite part of the show is when the Magician pulled underwear out a hat. He is such a typical boy, anything with underwear is funny to him.

The next morning we went to the parade with Grandma & Grandpa Christensen, Jenny and Brayden. Talan and Brayden got a ton of candy. The morning was overcast and cool, perfect for a parade.

Some of the candy that Talan got.

Finally after a long day of waiting it was time for the party. Grandma Jones made Talan the Magnificent the cape he was wearing. He was so excited to do his magic show for all his guest.

I always do a cake table. I try to use some new and old photos to show how much he has grown and some of his accomplishments over the years.
The food table. I little something sweet for everyone.

More Food.

Talan the Magnificent.

Talan and I.

Me sneaking a kiss from the birthday boy. I wish I had some magic potion to keep him little and sweet forever. He is already getting to the stage where he gets embarrassed if I hug or kiss him in front of people.
Talan with Grandpa and Grandma Jones.

Brayden, Jenny, Grandma Christensen and Talan.

Talan did an amazing magic show. He made a ball disappear, pulled rabbits out of his hat and made money appear.

Addy and Ellie were mystified with Talan's magic.

Time for gifts. It use to take Talan an hour to open gifts, now he had them all unwrapped with in a couple of minutes.

Talan got a ton of fun new toys to play with while we are in Mexico. Hopefully this will keep him busy and out of trouble.
Crew loved the Lightning McQueen that Talan got. He wanted to take it home with him.
Talan got a lot of fun gifts. We got him a DS, I hope he will enjoy it.

A few of the Party guest.

Talan likes Fresh Markets Chocolate Chip Cookies. So he was busy eating some while we were singing Happy Birthday.

The candles were supposed to be like sparklers. They didn't spark much.

Lincoln lounged on our bed during the party. He woke up not feeling well so we took him to the Dr's. He ended up having a ear infection and was not in the mood to party. Good thing Kipper was on.

After Talan's Party we went to the park to watch the fireworks. Talan and Brayden had a great time watching the fireworks and playing with their glow in the dark necklaces.

Happy Birthday Talan. I have loved spending the last 5 years with you. I can't wait to see what a wonderful person you will become. I love your soft spirit and caring personality.

A Day out with Thomas

Every Memorial Weekend we go up to Heber to see Thomas the Tank Engine. Talan loves to go and ride on Thomas and do all the activities that they have.

We have never bought tickets before hand and we have always gotten on the Train that we wanted. Well this year when we got up to get the tickets they only had a few for the 9:45 train and the next tickets available were for the 3:30 train. It was 9:35, so we hurried and got the tickets and ran to get on the train before it left. We were in such a hurry that I forgot to put new batteries in the camera so we have no photos of the boys riding on Thomas. Jason said that Talan had fun, and Lincoln just whined the whole time.

Of course when I want one good picture with the boys it never works out. Oh well it shows all their personalities. Talan is so excited to be at Thomas that he can't hold still. Lincoln could care less where we are he just wants out of the stroller so he can run wild. Jason just wants to get on with the day and quit have to posse for all these photos.

Talan and some of his best friends.

In the station waiting for our tickets.
Lincoln still trying to find away out of his stroller. He was not a happy camper.

Two cute boys.

Yay, I am finally out of that stroller. Now if you will please let me down so I can run.

The boys had some balloon swords made and enjoyed jabbing at each other.
Tattoo Time. This year I stocked up on a few so he will take a bath and not have to worry about it coming off.

Showing off his newest Tatt.

Luckily I found a box of Goldfish in my bag to entertain Linx.

Off to play a little miniature golf. Looks like he has a good teacher helping to perfect his swing.

Tough call on how to approach this difficult hole
A perfect swing.

Yes, he got a hole in one. Watch out Tiger Woods.

Talan said that playing golf was his favorite part of Thomas this year. Next year we will just hit Trafalga and a train ride around the mall and save ourselves a little money.

Still could not get Talan to get his picture taken with Sir Topman Hat. Maybe next year.

Talan visited all the stations so he got a prize.

A couple of my favorite boys.

Thomas, Talan and I.

Lincoln still not wanting to be there, but at least he is content still eating his Goldfish.
Talan waiting to get his photo taking with Thomas.

Talan even got the conductor to wave.

Waiting so patiently.

Finally our turn and he wouldn't smile for the camera lady.
What? Out of Goldfish! It is defiantly time to go home.

We had a great day out with Thomas and I am sure that we will be back again next year.

Talan is such a sensitive child. He was so sad to leave Thomas. Before we even made it to the car he was sobbing and saying that he missed Thomas.

So Sad. He did cheer up when we told him we would stop at the Dairy Keen to have a hamburger and that they had a Thomas train that went around the restaurant.
I have been needing a drink all morning to wash down that box of Goldfish I ate.

I think that both the boys were asleep before we even hit the dam.

Lincoln did not look comfortable.

Raspberry Sawhorse Graduation 2011

Talan graduated from the Raspberry Sawhorse Preschool toady. This is a photo of  Talan and Dad before the program.

Talan and Mom.
Both Grandmas and Grandpas came to the program. We were lucky enough to get front row seats.
They all got cute graduation caps.

Of course someone steps in front of this cute shot. Talan was giving everyone the thumbs up before the program started.
They sang a bunch of fun songs like Hi Ho Hi Ho its time to start our show,
Ten Bears in the bed,
How much is that (Race Car, Rapunzel and skunk) in the window
10 little Bees
When the singing was finished the diplomas were given and each student gave a bow.

We are so proud of Talan. He has learned so much this year and I owe it all to his two great teachers. Mrs Jackie and Mrs Lani.

Every night when Talan gets ready for bed he ask if tomorrow is preschool day and is so excited if it is. He says that he is never going to Kindergarten and he is going to Mrs Jackie's forever. Lucky for me he gets to go again next year. But summer is going to be long.

Jason decided to see how it feels to wear the cap. Hopefully he will have his own soon.
(I hope they sing How Much is that Race Car in the Window at his graduation) Ha Ha!!
